Date: 28.09.2020

A special program was prepared for the evening’s guests in which a folklore ensemble, writers, ethnographers, artists, and contemporaries of the author took part.

Oleg Botov—a researcher of the history and culture of the Pinega region of Northern Russia, the birthplace of Abramov—presented a gift edition of the story by Fyodor Abramov, ‘To Peter for a Sundress’, written in 1961, prepared for the anniversary of the author’s birth. Costume expert and restorer at the State Historical Museum Yekaterina Barabanova spoke about the specifics of the Pinega folk costume.

A laureate of the Valentin Ovechkin prize, author of more than 30 books, Alexander Lyskov, read the essay, ‘Abramov's Women’, which he wrote for the anniversary of the writer’s birth, in which he discusses the role of Fyodor Abramov’s mother in the formation of Abramov’s personality and the creation of heroines in his work.

The evening was accompanied by Northern Pinega songs and round dances performed by the Pearl (Zemchug) folklore ensemble.
